What do our skill ratings mean?

● ○ ○ ○ ○ This is the most beginner skill level. You are comfortable on smooth trails with very little technical obstacles (roots, rocks, steep sections, tight turns).

● ● ○ ○ ○ You are comfortable with some beginner and low level intermediate trails in your area. You can confidently ride up and down most small roots, rocks, steep sections and tight turns.

● ● ● ○ ○ You are comfortable and confident on all intermediate level trails you have ridden. You can confidently ride up and down small to medium rocks and roots. You have good brake control on steep sections and can take flowy corners at a moderate speed. You are comfortable with most switchbacks and tight turns.

● ● ● ● ○ You are confident on all intermediate level trails and some advanced trails. You can ride up and down most medium to large rocks and roots. You can confidently ride steep trails and can take flat and banked turns at speed. You can confidently ride most switchbacks and tight turns.

● ● ● ● ● You are confident on any trail and technical feature. No need to be catching air, but if you do — awesome!

What do our fitness ratings mean?

● ○ ○ ○ ○ You are moderately active 1-3 times per week and can do rides up to an hour in length. You comfortable with small hills but not extended climbs.

● ● ○ ○ ○ You are active 2-4 times per week and can do rides that are less than 2 hours in length. You are comfortable with small hills and shorter extended climbs (up to 500-1000 ft of elevation gain throughout a ride).

● ● ● ○ ○ You ride 3-5 times per week, and can ride comfortably do rides that are 3 hours in length. You might not be the fastest but you can climb 1500-2000 ft during a ride.

● ● ● ● ○ You ride 3-5 times per week, and can comfortably do rides that are 4+ hours in length. You are ok with climbing 3000+ ft in a single ride.

● ● ● ● ● You are very fit and ride most days of the week. It doesn’t matter how many hours or what the elevation gain is — endurance is your thing!
