World Ride’s purpose
We believe in the transformative skills that can be learned from mountain biking. Unfortunately, there are barriers to women across the world from learning the sport. World Ride is a nonprofit that works to remove those barriers and empower women globally through mountain biking. We do this by:
- Raising money to establish bike and gear libraries in Nepal, Guatemala, Peru, Botswana, and Lesotho
- Supporting training sessions to help women develop mountain biking and guiding skills
- Employing local women to lead our mountain biking tours
- Promoting visibility of women in the sport of mountain biking by supporting race goals
Through mountain biking, you are challenged to overcome fears, gain courage, and build determination. This earned confidence can translate into other areas of your life, and the lives of the women we work with.

Nepal
Mountain biking in the Himalayas? Yes please! Choose between three tours to experience things like the Tiji Festival, lodging in mountain Teahouses, and some of the best bike trails in the world.
Peru
Take a seven day mountain biking adventure through the Andes, with a chance to visit Machu Picchu! With this trip you’ll be supporting the local economy in Peru and local women mountain bikers.
Guatemala
Ride single track trails through coffee fields and down the sides of volcanoes, and exclusive downhill mountain bike trails at El Zur! These are some of the only purpose-built mountain bike trails in Guatemala.
Botswana
Let’s go on a safari… but on a mountain bike! This seven day trip takes into the Mashatu Game Reserve, through the Savanna and stunning river valleys. You’ll have a chance to see elephants, zebra, giraffes and more.
Lesotho
Spend 10 days biking around the small, mountainous country of Lesotho via a combination of singletrack and jeep roads. You’ll also get to ride with local women, experience the first Pump for Peace pump tracks, and cap off your trip with a visit to the famous Maletsunyane Falls.
Mount Kilimanjaro
Our trip to Tanzania is the most epic way to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. An all woman team of guides and porters will lead you along the famed Kilema route up to the highest point in Africa.

Being part of a World Ride trip to Peru was unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced, and not only because we were riding the epic janky terrain that is the Andes! The riding was both challenging and rewarding, the views were AMAZING, and the entire group of riders that were on the trip were awesome to hang out with. The best part is that when you sign up for a World Ride trip, you’re directly contributing to their mission to train new guides and increase accessibility to mountain biking for women in underserved countries — too good!
